Artist Statement: I paint in the California Impressionists style. The color of light and the wonderful compositions of nature are a constant source of inspiration to me. I use strong forms, compelling color, and expressive brush work to bring excitement to my oil paintings. Landscape is my favorite subject. Oil paints are so wonderful to work with, so adaptable and such a friend to mood and temperature. They invite invention and expression. I am on a path of exploration with oil painting, always learning and applying what I see and feel. Some of the artists that I admire are Joaquin Sorolla, John Asaro, and Jove Wang. Each of these painters has a serious appreciation for technique, and has successfully enhanced their skill with imagination.
