Capturing the moment in an outdoor setting is one of my favorite ways of painting. I like the challenge of plein air painting: changing light, shadows, weather--all combine to push the artist to a higher level of concentration than might otherwise take place. I find this exciting. With the necessary skills at hand, magic sometimes happens, and I am able to capture the special moment on paper or canvas. This, to me, is art.
