Grace Boothe is a "plein air" painter, where her love for color manifests itself in nature's palette. One of the greatest influences in her career has been the experience of living and painting in France. Grace's paintings are executed in the same manner as the French Impressionists, that is, outdoors, at one location, from start to finish. Her palette consists of seven hues that, when mixed, result in a vibrant mass of color.
She was born in New York and received her formal education at Stony Brook. Grace spent five years in France studying at several academies, including the Marshutz Art School at the Institute for Americans, Aix en Provence; the Atelier du Safranier, Antibes, and the University of Nice. Her French mentor is Dominique Prevost of the Atelier du Safranier. She is the proud recipient of Homage de la Ville De Menton, for her winning painting in the Villefranche Fine Art annual competition.
While in Spain, she followed in the footsteps of Joachim Sorolla and painted "en plein air." Grace then travelled to Italy and presented her impressions of Tuscany, Umbria, and Venice. Her paintings have been collected corporately as well as privately throughout the United States and Europe.
Boothe says, "Painting is a never-ending learning process. I look forward to learning my entire life."
